Saturday, October 1st, 2011

A grant is a type of fund which is allotted by a big party (generally a local/federal government but even a private foundation or trust). It is awarded to individuals, firms, non profit organizations or communities for a specific projects pertaining to health, business, education, science and so on. The grant is a way of supporting the growth of the society in the above mentioned ways.

The recipient has to apply for a grant following the given SOP and once awarded, has to report periodically about the status of the project. Big grant makers, like the US Treasury impose stringent rules against such grants. For homeowners experiencing a foreclosure, the treasury provides a modification in their current mortgage plans, refinance solutions and much more, if at all the homeowner can prove his dire need. Special grants are also released for the help of the elderly to satisfy their basic expenses.
